Description

The Electrolysis Kit consists of our Aluminum Anode and a strap which fastens the anode to the motor assembly.  Electrolysis Kits are recommended for use in extreme saltwater conditions.

Aluminum Anodes are a sacrificial metal and protects the Ice Eater from corrosion and electrolysis.
Inspect the Aluminum Anode periodically (at least every 2-3 months) for deterioration and/or corrosion.
You must replace the Aluminum Anodes when it has been reduced to half of the original size.
Failure to operate the Ice Eater with the anode could result in metal deterioration and contamination and may void your warranty.

Aluminum Anodes are the best choice of sacrificial anodes for all water types.
Unlike Zinc Anodes, Aluminum Anodes have zero cadmium in the alloy, making Aluminum Anodes environmentally friendly and suitable for all uses.

Size Guide

One size fits all Ice Eaters and all off-brand de-icers with a motor can diameter up to 8″ wide.

Installation Guide

The aluminum anodes comes in 2 halves, each with a notch cut in for the strap to hold it in place.
Place the aluminum anode halves on separate ends of the motor can.
Thread the tongue end of the strap through the loop until it fits snuggly against the aluminum anodes and holds them in place.
With a number 2 Phillips screwdriver, tighten the screw on the strap in order to lock it in place.
We recommend you wire-tie the Electrolysis Kit to the bracket in order to hold it in place.
This will help prevent losing the strap in the event the anodes corrode too much and fall out of place.
